Seeing more sites here accepting crypto payments or running crypto affiliate offers, so a few basic safety habits worth repeating for anyone newer to it.
  • Never store a seed phrase digitally. No screenshots, no notes app, no cloud storage - a photo of a seed phrase is basically a photo of your funds sitting somewhere it can be hacked.
  • Use a hardware wallet, or at least a reputable exchange, for anything beyond pocket change. Convenience wallets are fine for small day-to-day amounts, not for anything you'd be upset to lose.
  • Verify contract/token addresses from official sources only. Never from a DM, a random comment, or a link someone sent you unprompted - that's one of the most common scam vectors right now.
  • Turn on 2FA everywhere, app-based rather than SMS when possible. SIM-swapping makes SMS 2FA a lot weaker than it feels.
  • Treat "too good to be true" APY offers as exactly that. If a yield seems way above what the market is offering elsewhere, assume there's a catch until proven otherwise.
None of this is groundbreaking, but worth having written down somewhere obvious. Anything you'd add to the list?
