C-class IP diversity used to be treated as a must for anyone building link networks or spreading sites across hosting - the theory being that search engines would connect sites on the same subnet and discount the links between them.
Given how much more sophisticated link graph analysis has gotten since then (author/entity signals, content quality, actual traffic patterns), is anyone still deliberately shopping for IP diversity, or has that basically become folklore at this point?
Interested in hearing from anyone who's tested this recently rather than just repeating what a guide from ten years ago says.
