A question I see a lot: how often should a website actually be redesigned? The honest answer is less often than most people think.
A full redesign is expensive, risky for SEO rankings if done carelessly, and often unnecessary. Most sites don't need a full rebuild — they need ongoing small improvements: updated content, better page speed, modern UI touches, fixed broken elements.

A full redesign usually makes sense when: the site isn't mobile-friendly at all, the tech stack is genuinely outdated/insecure, conversion rates have been flat or declining for a long time despite traffic, or the brand itself has fundamentally changed.

The biggest risk with a full redesign is losing SEO equity — URL structure changes, lost internal links, and content cuts can tank rankings overnight if migration isn't planned carefully (301 redirects, matching old URLs to new ones, etc.).

Has anyone here done a full redesign recently? Did your traffic recover, and how long did it take?
