Most affiliates never ask for a better commission rate — and most affiliate managers have room to negotiate more than people assume, especially once you're sending real volume. Lead with data – Come with your actual traffic/conversion numbers. "I've sent 200 conversions this quarter" is a much stronger opener than just asking for more money. Ask about volume tiers – Many programs have unpublished higher rates once you hit certain monthly volume. Ask for more than just rate – Longer cookie windows, exclusive promo codes, or early access to new offers can be just as valuable as a percentage bump. Time it well – Right after a strong month of performance is the best leverage point. Just ask – The worst case is they say no and you're exactly where you started. Has anyone successfully negotiated a better deal recently? What worked?
