🛠️ Managed and unmanaged hosting solve very different problems, and picking the wrong one is a common source of frustration.
🧑‍💻 Unmanaged Hosting – You get the server (VPS/dedicated) and full root access, but you're responsible for everything: updates, security, backups, monitoring. Cheaper, more flexible, but requires real sysadmin knowledge.
🤝 Managed Hosting – The host handles server administration, security patches, backups, and often performance optimization. Costs more, but you can focus entirely on your site/content instead of server maintenance.
🎯 If you don't know what a cron job is or don't want to learn, managed hosting is almost certainly worth the extra cost. If you're comfortable at the command line and want full control, unmanaged can save real money.
💬 Which do you currently run, and would you switch given the choice again?
