Every time I start a new project I end up burning way too many hours on the domain name before writing a single line of the actual site. Wanted to know how other people here approach it.
Do you brainstorm a big list and filter down, lean on a domain generator/thesaurus tool, or just wait until something clicks? And where do you land on the bigger tradeoffs - brandable-but-meaningless vs exact-match-keyword, a short .com you had to pay a premium for vs a longer name you got for reg-fee, or buying an aged/expired domain instead of registering fresh?
Also curious whether anyone's had real success (or regret) going with an alternative TLD instead of holding out for a .com.
