Most of the SEO advice out there is either really advanced or really vague, so here are a few smaller, concrete things that are easy to overlook but tend to make a real difference once they're actually done properly.
  • Title tags that match search intent, not just keywords. Stuffing a keyword in isn't enough - the title should read like an answer to the query someone typed, or people bounce straight back to the results.
  • Internal linking with real anchor text. A lot of sites link everything as "click here" or "read more". Linking related pages together with descriptive anchor text helps both users and crawlers understand what a page is actually about.
  • Compressing and properly naming images. Huge unoptimized images are still one of the most common Core Web Vitals killers, and generic filenames like IMG_2031.jpg waste an easy, free ranking signal.
  • Cleaning up thin or near-duplicate pages. A handful of strong, complete pages will usually outperform a large number of half-finished ones competing with each other for the same query.
  • Basic structured data (schema). Even just Article or FAQ schema on your main content pages can get you extra visibility in search results without much work.
None of these are flashy, but they're the kind of thing that quietly adds up. Curious what "boring but effective" SEO habits have worked well for the rest of you.
